Hello, I'm Helen Paterson, it's great to be able do a take-over and tell you a little about me and my business, Accidental Love Heart @accidentalloveheart.
I confess to being a totally hopeless romantic, I make no apologies for that, I see love hearts everywhere and in everything and I decided to share with anyone who needs a little love in their life.
Originally from the picturesque Causeway Coast in N. Ireland I moved to Glasgow, Scotland (Paisley to be specific) for uni and ended up staying there for 16years. I met my partner there when he moved to Glasgow for work. He returned to Liverpool and we did the long-distance life for 2 years (yes it can work) until lockdown hit and we decided to merge our households sooner rather than later, so I moved to Liverpool with him. We’ve just adopted a little rescue too and loving life! I have a really busy day job as an events manager, I’ve always worked in events and I love everything about it.
So my love heart finds are generally from Ireland, Scotland and Liverpool, and when we get to travel again I’m sure I’ll find plenty more to share with you all. Why did I set up my business? Well, I love capturing these accidental love hearts and want to share them. The purpose of a side hustle is turn a hobby into a business and this is exactly what I’m doing. I have just started so bear with me as I build up my products.
I realised I had a collection of these accidental love heart photos so thought Instagram was the best platform to share them. From there I realised that people enjoy seeing my posts and finds so I’ve made some of them into keepsakes.
I set up my Etsy shop just before Christmas and to be honest didn’t do much marketing or hustling for it until January to get the Valentine’s Day market. Setting up my Etsy was surprisingly easy and I’m enjoying working on new products and listing them.
I’m starting very small and just working within my means, using earnings from my sales to create more products. I’m really working on new products and listing them.
I’m starting very small and just working within my means, using earnings from my sales to create more products. I’m really enjoying the process. If you dream it, do it! You’re always going to be ‘too busy’ with other things and starting out is scary but once you dip your toe in you’ll want to dive right in.
You can find me on Instagram @accidentalloveheart and my shop us on Etsy.
