and I own and run Bridal Reloved Liverpool.
What are your views on feminism in the 21st Century and what does it mean to you?
For me there shouldn’t necessarily be feminism or any labelling or categorising. I’m a believer in everyone being completely equal regardless of your gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation etc. We should all as a community, as humans on this planet of ours realise we should all support and lift each other up. As John Lennon said ‘Imagine’.
Which women/woman inspire(s) you and why?
I’m inspired daily whenever I open my social media, seeing so many local women driven towards creating a business and a livelihood for themselves and their families.
If you could meet any woman who would it be and why:
I’d love to meet Oprah Winfrey, her attitude on life and where she taken herself in life are fantastic.
If you had a magic wand, what one thing would you like to change in the world today?
If I was able to change anything it would be to irradiate poverty, that no one went without basic human needs of food, shelter and clean water.
What did you want to do when you grew up?
When I was a lot younger I wanted to be a zoo keeper! As I got a bit older and in to high school and my peers were choosing their career fields I never ever had a desire to do anything particular! Where I ended up in my career now is a culmination of different events through my employed life which took me to moving from Edinburgh to Liverpool and becoming self-employed in the wedding industry.
What book are you currently reading?
And what is your favourite book, I’m currently working my way through My Story the Jo Malone biography. I find it hard to find the time to sit and read so I’ve been on it for a month or so far! I don’t particularly have an all-time favourite book as I’m not a huge reader at the best of times.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
I have a few! I’d say watching ‘say yes to the dress’ and chowing down on snacks!
What’s on your bucket list to do and why?
As I’m not a massive traveller and more of a home bird it’s not a place on my bucket list I’d like to go. My bucket list consists of creating a life I don’t need to escape from, to feel completely at ease with life and content.
Where would you recommend dinner and drinks in Liverpool?
I really love heading to Miller & Carter steak house on the Royal Albert Dock. Growing up I didn’t enjoy steak or red meat, as I got older my tastes changed and now love a treat every so often of a medium/rare steak and a glass of Merlot!
What is happiness to you…….
Happiness to me is time away with my fiancé, both working full time along with other commitments means there’s not always a lot of free time, so when we do get it puts me in the happy place! We get married in 2 weeks so definitely looking forward to our honeymoon in Mexico a few months later.
